Title: Dark Protector by Celia Aaron

Rating: 5/5 ⭐️’s and 3/5 🌟’s

Total Rating: 8/10

Review: From the moment I saw her through the window of her flower shop, something other than darkness took root inside me. Charlie shone like a beacon in a world that had long since lost any light. But she was never meant for me, a man that killed without remorse and collected bounties drenched in blood.
I thought staying away would keep her safe, would shield her from me. I was wrong. Danger followed in my wake like death at a slaughter house. I protected her from the threats that circled like black buzzards, kept her safe with kill after kill.
But everything comes with a price, especially second chances for a man like me.
Killing for her was easy. It was living for her that turned out to be the hard part.

From the very beginning, this story captured my attention. Normally when stories capture my attention, I start to lose interest at one point whether it’s at the start, middle, or toward the end. This book on the other hand kept me reading. There was character development and flowing story line.

I do have to say I fell in love with the character, Nate. I am hoping that he gets his own book because he deserves it. I love his humor; it didn’t seem forced or strange at any point. He  had a charm that I absolutely loved.

As for the main characters, I loved them as well, especially Conrad. The love he develops for Charlie is passionate and agh, I just love it. Now sometimes the main female character frustrates me and it’s because of the damn decisions they make or how much they deny something and you’re just screaming “GIVE IN ALREADY!!”! Well not with this girl. Sure there were some times where I would hope that she does something but, she ends up not doing it, but it wasn’t frustrating. She ended up finding either a better way of going about something or it worked out her way anyway. Which is fine.

None of the characters really frustrated me but I do have to admit, the ending felt a little rushed. Not much but just a tad. It was in the epilogue to be specific. I felt like an idea was plastered into the first half of the epilogue, but only a little.

Overall, I really liked this read and I really hope that the author continues with this series with Nate’s side of the story.

Also (forgot to add), this book is under the genre Dark Romance & Erotica, but it didn’t really feel like erotica. There were a few sexy scenes but it wasn’t as intense as an erotica. Normally I don’t go for eroticas because it’s all about the sex and not really the story line. This book though was a perfect combination of sex and story line. Kind of like a New Adult Romance but a little more descriptive and kind of like an Erotica but more story line and less crude, I mean, “sexy” wording. Either way it was a great dark  romance and I think I’m going to read more Dark Romances because this one was pretty darn good.

Until next time lovelies.

Title: The Singer (Irin Chronicles) by Elizabeth Hunter

Rating: 5/5🌟’s

Review: I have come to the decision that 🌟 will now be mega stars and ⭐️ will be regular stars. So if I put a mega star then ya know it’s good!! On to the review!!

I would love for everyone to just go and buy this book right now, like this instant because I’m seriously alone in this fandom and I need to find people to discuss this book with because ohh my lord!! I’m catholic so I should use the Lord’s name in vain but my goodness!! This book, this series is a lot better than I thought. I don’t know if it’s because I’m getting back in my groove and am reading books a lot faster or I’ve become so attached to this book that I just burned right thru it or it was a quick read. Either way, this book is…it needs its own fandom, like a big one because, it deserves it!!

My heart broke for Ava despite the fact that I knew the truth and such (won’t say any spoilers). The heartache and confusion and the anger were all felt and it was such a journey. A journey to the very last word. This is such a great read and the ending…boy, I cannot believe I’m rooting for this person because I’m not supposed to but fuck that. Sorry, don’t know the age range of our audience so bleep it out with your eyes and replace it with fudge. Fudge is better, fuck isn’t. (Bleep that out again)

I want this person (it’s so hard not to say because I want to discuss sooooo bad, grrrr population of one in fandom island) to get what he craves so much and it makes me bad for wanting that but ugh!!

There are other things I want to say but I can’t so all I’ll going to say is go buy this series right now because this fandom island is like this right now 🏝 and I need it to be more like this

With the ships included.

I really hope this population of one grows (soon 🤞🏻) so here is the link down below to get your journey to the series started:

THE SCRIBE is the first book in the Irin Chronicles, the new paranormal romance series from Elizabeth Hunter, author of the Elemental Mysteries.

Review:

If I could capitalize a number I would capitalize the heck out of the rating I just gave. This book is…whoa, the emotions are still fresh (😭). At first I thought this story was slow but that’s because I’m not used to reading books like this, and by this I mean historic. It’s not necessarily under the historic genre but it does have some elements, at least it felt like it to me at first. This is more of an urban fantasy which is great and there is romance involved which got me instantly hooked to this series.

After I got past the first couple of pages I was drawn in and couldn’t stop reading. I thought that I couldn’t get back in it because it got boring for me, but when I picked it up again I realized I put it down because a naughty scene was going on 😏 and I couldn’t read it where I was at the moment that I put it down. Have you ever read a sexy scene in public? It’s pretty uncomfortable 😂

Anyway, I’m glad I picked it up as soon as I could because this story is awesome!! Can be a bit slow at times, I must admit but I think that’s just because it’s a me thing rather than a story thing. But if you’ve already read this book then let me know your thoughts on it, I would love to read about it.

The ending of this story…I didn’t think I would cry…but I did…so much so that my dad looked at me and had such a conflicted face “should I ask or just not”. I don’t want to give any spoilers buuuut if there is anyone out there who has read this book, speak up cuz this is how I feel right now:

Anyway! I’ve been gone from this series too long, on to book 2 of this series.

Comment, follow, like and such. 👍🏻

The Finn Factor by Rachel Bailey REVIEW

Title: The Finn Factor by Rachel Bailey

Rate: 4/5 🌟’s

Review: I really enjoyed reading The Finn Factor. It was really cute at times and yes a little frustrating but not much. It was frustrating because of the situations that kept setting the characters apart. It has nothing to do with the characters at all which is beautiful.

I love all the characters in this story, especially Harvey, he’s funny and adorable. Not once did I want any of the characters to leave. This book is 206 pages long (in the ebook at least) and it didn’t feel like it dragged at all. Of all the books I’ve been trying to finish lately, this is the book to finally break that streak (thank God!!). Every time I put the book down because work or acting got in the way, I found that when I had nothing to do I was actually reaching for my nook, which hasn’t happened in a while. This book actually drew me in and I couldn’t stop reading.

It’s sort of a quick read, really cute, and I just love everything about it. I purchased it for nook not too long ago and I think I got it discounted thru bookbub, so if you guys follow BookBub or are subscribed, hopefully this book is still available for the cheap price of $0.99.

This is a short post but just wanted to get this review in before I forget haha. Have a great day, or night, depending on where you live. Hope you enjoyed these thoughts and such.

“The Witches Of The Glass Castle” [Book Review]

Title: “The Witches Of The Glass Castle” by Gabriella Lepore

Rating: ☆☆☆☆.4/5☆’s

Genre: Young Adult, Paranormal Romance

Published: April 18th 2017

Synopsis:

Mia’s life is thrown through a loop when she discovers her family secret — that she and her brother Dino are witches. After they are sent away to study their craft, they begin down a path that will change their lives forever.

Suddenly thrust into a world where handsome warriors command the power of nature and people’s thoughts and actions can be manipulated at will, Mia and Dino struggle to navigate their own allegiances and do what they know to be right when everything around them seems beyond their control.

My Thoughts and Review:

“The Witches Of The Glass Castle” is actually the first book I read this month. With so much going on I am SO GLAD I PICKED IT UP!! The cover you guys is GORGEOUS!!! love the design and color. You are pulled in buy it. So A+ on the cover!! I didn’t even know I needed a witch fix. Gabriella Lepore loves to write witch theme books and I LOVE IT! Her writing is so easy to get into. I love the way she writes when it comes to the bonds of family. The relationship between Dino and her Aunt may seem a little harsh at times but they understand each other and they love each other and they know it. I thought it was beautiful. Her aunt would kill for her boy. LITERALLY!

The romance was not rushed and I love when the romance is not instant but it grows and that is what we have here. I will say it gets cheesy sometimes but it goes with our characters. The sibling relationship between Dino and Mia is a little wacky but there is a scene that I loved between them that showed how much Dino cared for his sister. Then we had surprises that I honestly did not see coming. I enjoyed the characters and the magic. I LOVED the HUNTERS! one in particular and I need more! The way it ended was not enough cause things were verly getting started!!!

Really enjoyed this read. The magic and romance were my favorite parts and need to know what happens next!!

Both books are out! So go get your witch fix cause TRUST ME you need it! Gabriella Lepore knows her craft.

My Thoughts and Review:

◇◇◇ First of all this book is a Standalone so anyone who is not a fan of reading a series don’t worry this book is safe for you. Second this book was AMAZING!!! I love it all!! I have no complains. This Book is all my favorite Movies/TvShows/Books stuff put together! This is a mix of the show “Nikita”, the movie “Mr.&Mrs. Smith”, The book prequel of TOG “The Assassins Blade” by Sarah J. Maas, and the book “New World Rising” by Jennifer Wilson. What do they all have in common you ask?? KICK_ASS characters and Strong female leads! Action pack from the START!

So we meet Nashville who is our main character here. She is a professional Assassin. Her K.OP name is ”3”…..you will find out why eventually. She was abandoned young and can’t remember much but what she does know is she is an “A+”. Someone with superhuman strength and heighten senses. The closes thing to a super hero. She was recruited young and was taught how to use her abilities. She does not like to get close to people always keeps them at a distant but if anyone hurts who she cares for they will never see it coming…..

She goes on a mission and turns out there is another operative working in the same mission as her from a different agency and Crap collides!! So many things go down and it is exciting! You will not be able to put the book down. It was just that good!! The fight scenes, the romance, the friendships, the characters, the chemistry, the comedy!! All of it was SOOOO GOOD!!! I haven’t read a standalone like this in a while or ever cause I can’t remember, that had all the stuff I love and I am pretty sure everyone else will. Like HOW COULD YOU NOT!??

The book is fast-pace. Secrets from the past come back to hunt her and the ending…..I LOVED IT. I thought it was a PERFECT ending! If you haven’t realized it yet, YES I DO RECOMMEND cause I would love to talk to someone who has read it and talk about all the crazy stuff and scenes that happen!! YOU MUST!!! And if you have seen the shows/movies/books I had mentioned above that I believe remind me of this baby then we really need to talk after you are done!

Thanx for reading guys.\(^^)/

“Rose Petal Graves” Book Review!

Title: “Rose Petal Graves” by Olivia Wildenstein

Rating: ☆☆☆☆.9/ 5 ☆’s

Genre: Fantasy. Teens& YA

Publication Date: March 29, 2017

Synopsis:

Ancient secrets cannot remain buried forever.

Founded two centuries ago by a powerful tribe of Gottwa Indians, Rowan was a quiet town, so quiet that I fled after graduation. Staying away was the plan, but Mom died suddenly.

Dad said she suffered a stroke after she dug up one of the ancient graves in our backyard, which happens to be the town cemetery. Creepy, I know. Creepier still, there was no corpse inside the old coffin, only fresh rose petals.

As we made preparations for Mom’s burial, new people began arriving in Rowan, unnervingly handsome and odd people. I begged them to leave, but they stayed, because their enemies—my ancestors—were beginning to awaken.

Book Review:

The only fae books I had actually read and liked were the Throne of Glass series and A Court of Thorns and Roses both by Sarah J. Maas. I can’t actually think of other fae type…..

Well anyway I am happy to say that now I have a new one to add to my list of great Fae books! First of all, the cover is beautiful! I love the rose and dark colors used for it. It makes it stand out. Also what I enjoyed the most were the characters. This book reminded me of “The Vampire Diaries” but the show not the book (I did not really like the books much, LOVE the show. DAMON🖤💗🖤!!) If you like the TV show you will enjoy this book.

I am HAPPY to say we have a Damon in this book. He is Dominant, sarcastic, evil at times, caring, protective, GOD I LOVE HIM!! Every time he appeared I would laugh at what came out of him and imagined “Damon” from Vampire Diaries saying it. There is also Two other male characters that play a big role in our romance part with our main character, Catori and I already know people will have a hard time deciding who to go for. I kinda am but I have already chosen my guy, my Damon duplicate but he is not part of the love interest.

We have hunters, fae warriors, ancestors, deaths, everything is all happening so fast for our main lead (Catori) its crazy. I like how the story is developing and the secrets that are starting to reveal themselves. I also like how one still does not actually know who to trust yet. I still don’t know on whose side I’m on yet. Its like a guessing game and really like the mystery. It did not finish in a cliffhanger but I am already looking forward the sequel. There is still so much to tell!! I highly recommend you guys to pick this up. It was pretty fast pace and the characters will pull you in.

Title: “Rome and What’s Her Name” by Shani Petroff

Rating:☆☆☆☆☆/5☆’s

Genre: Teen/ Ya Contemporary

Published: Feb. 7th by Swoon Reads

Synopsis:

Understudies never get to perform

. . . which is why being Juliet’s understudy in the school’s yearly “Evening with Shakespeare” is the perfect role for Emily. She can earn some much-needed extra credit while pursuing her main goal of spending time with Wes, aka Romeo, aka the hottest, nicest guy in school (in her completely unbiased opinion). And she meant to learn her lines, really, it’s just:
a) Shakespeare is HARD,
b) Amanda, aka the “real” Juliet, makes her run errands instead of lines, and
c) there’s no point because Amanda would never miss the chance to be the star of the show.

Then, Amanda ends up in the hospital and Emily, as the (completely unprepared!) understudy, has to star opposite the guy of her dreams. Oops?

My thoughts and Review:

I finished this book yesterday and all I have to say is I LOVED IT!!! this book was HILARIOUS!! OMG, You guys have no Idea how many time I laughed out loud. Just by the title alone you know there is a Romeo and Juliet scene happening somehow but the way the author created everything. I was in tears of laughter. I couldn’t drink water through a particular scene for fear of spilling. I loved it!

Since my reading slump was off and On this book shook it off completely and let me read my book in peace. The main character Emily was sooo funny and is definitely relate able. I cringed at times to her embarrassing moments. I felt for her, got shy with her, laughedwith her.  I was always like “Why did you! Stop!” but of course it was too late….(^.^)> lol.

I enjoyed all her characters, all the scenes, the reading was easy to go into. I really enjoyed the authors writing. It was perfect for me! This book was adorable, funny, cute, witty, giddy, light, easy, overall Loved it!

I recommend this book! If your in a reading slump this baby is your cure. If your a Jenny Han fan this book is for you. If you like funny light reads this book is for you. IF YOU WANT TO LAUGH read it!!

I saw that goodreads does not have a high rating which is too bad cause this was a fun read in my opinion. So make your own judgment and check it out!

SEE THE STORY OF THESEUS AND THE MINOTAUR

Who ended up

In an underground puzzle.

What is it with you mortals?

You just can’t seem to learn:

If you play with fire, babies,

You’re gonna get burned.

My Thoughts & Review:

~ Something that not many know about me is that I am a mythology junkie. ESPECIALLY Greek Myth. When I heard there was a retelling of the Minotaur and Theseus I had to read it! In the end it was not a retelling its more of a modernize version of the story in a poetic way. I actually enjoyed this read! It helped me fight off my reading slump (^^).

The story is told in poetry, but it is not boring. The language and tone used is more of our time, you know 21st century and If I’m being honest at time it did get annoying. Well mostly when a particular character talked. You’ll know who if you keep reading. I won’t spoil so no worries.

In this story we see more of the life of the Minotaur. In the original story we basically don’t have much background from him. I liked seeing this created story from the author. Asterion, which is the Minotaur became my favorite character and I felt for him. I knew what the outcome would be but it still did not help with my feels. I enjoyed all the characters even Poseidon which was the god involved.

Poseidon (God of the Sea) at the beginning ANNOYED ME!!! He was the reason I kept thinking “should I even bother continuing….”(It was that bad). The tone and language used for him was just too much for me and it annoyed THE HECK OUT OF ME. but I was glad I continued. Meeting the other characters and seeing things happening through their eyes was interesting. Watching everything unravel and my Minotaur and her sister. It was good! Definitely enjoyed the read. I do recommend for Mythology Junkies like me or Poetry lovers (Just get through the beginning it gets better) or even people who want to start Greek myths or want to read something light. This is the book for you. Great story, great background on Asterion, My Minotaur, I loved it!

Will be out March 28th so get your copy cause it is worth the read.

Punk 57 by Penelope Douglas [Book Review]

Title: “PUNK 57” by Penelope Douglas

Rating:💜💜💜💜💜/5💜’s

This BOOK you guys!! THIS BOOK!! I want to say it now. I still have the feels even as I write this. This is a NONE SPOILER REVIEW so you don’t have to worry!

SYNOPSIS:

“We were perfect together. Until we met.” – Misha

I can’t help but smile at the words in her letter. She misses me.
In fifth grade, my teacher set us up with pen pals from a different school. Thinking I was a girl, with a name like Misha, the other teacher paired me up with her student, Ryen. My teacher, believing Ryen was a boy like me, agreed.
It didn’t take long for us to figure out the mistake. And in no time at all, we were arguing about everything. The best take-out pizza. Android vs. iPhone. Whether or not Eminem is the greatest rapper ever…
And that was the start. For the next seven years, it was us.
Her letters are always on black paper with silver writing. Sometimes there’s one a week or three in a day, but I need them. She’s the only one who keeps me on track, talks me down, and accepts everything I am.
We only had three rules. No social media, no phone numbers, no pictures. We had a good thing going. Why ruin it?
Until I run across a photo of a girl online. Name’s Ryen, loves Gallo’s pizza, and worships her iPhone. What are the chances?
F*ck it. I need to meet her.
I just don’t expect to hate what I find.

Ryen

He hasn’t written in three months. Something’s wrong. Did he die? Get arrested? Knowing Misha, neither would be a stretch.
Without him around, I’m going crazy. I need to know someone is listening. It’s my own fault. I should’ve gotten his number or picture or something.
He could be gone forever.
Or right under my nose, and I wouldn’t even know it.

Review:

This baby is a standalone and I LOVED this book! and I mean L-O-V-E!!! I think Penelope Douglas has become my next go to author.  Anything she writes I must have, I must read, I need! Also, look at this book cover. It is STUNNING 💕. The colors are so vibrant, it sucks you in without even knowing what its about.

This is a New Adult book so there are some sexy times in here, so this book is definitely not for young readers but it also deals with self-growth, the fear of acceptance, friendship, loss and bullying.  A book that one can easily relate too the characters. There is High School drama going on and……….not yet. I said no spoilers. The feels guys. I just finished the book and I already want to read it AGAIN!!

The characters were good and even the ones that popped in for like 10 seconds!!! I was like whaattt!?!? Who are these guys and where can I get more. The romance, the plot. It all kept you intoxicated to the story. You would not want to put it down. This book was that good. Oh and she has a playlist of the music that inspired her to write her characters and story and It matches. PERFECTLY.  (I added some of that music to my ipod now ^^)

It is a MUST READ if you have not read. RECOMMEND to the 100th POWER!!!

Also there is something she wrote in her Acknowledgments section. I usually don’t read that section but for some reason I did and I am glad I did. I was touched and got teary. Since her book deals with Bullying, she was voicing out to her readers,to who were ever victims and went through this type (her book scenes) situations [before you read the next line Its not exactly a big spoiler but the lines she says she uses in her book]

To anyone out there who might’ve related to what some of the characters went through, Just remember: it gets better, you are important, and you can’t be replaced. Hang on and you’ll find you tribe.”-Penelope Douglas

I found that inspirational, Mad respects to Penelope Douglas. Hope you enjoyed this post and comment below if you feel like reading this baby or already have. Until net time. (^^)/
